How to Instantly Inspire Someone

Chris Guillebeau | The Art of Non-Conformity.

Chris Guillebeau, if you read this, I hope you’re flattered. (Rather than completely weirded out).

This guy just started following me on Twitter. I always like to check out all of my followers (all 153 of them) to see if they’re something special. As it turns out, Chris Guillebeau is better than special. He’s a badass. I assume I’ll spend the next three hours reading through everything on his site and then thinking about his potential influence on my life–which should be significant, considering he uses a variety of phrases that I constantly use to describe myself (in my own mind only… I’m not sure if I’ve proven myself enough to describe myself in that way to the rest of the world.) Should be especially helpful in my attempt at personal branding…

Here are some reasons why I think this guy is cool:

  • He has been “challenging authority since 1978″
  • He is a “fighter of the status quo”
  • He has a blog, and an upcoming book, entitled “The Art of Non-Conformity”
  • He seems to be blogging and writing about “unconventional strategies”

Okay so this isn’t totally about Chris Guillebeau. Here’s my point:

Within five seconds of clicking on his website, I was impressed and intrigued and fascinated and jealous and inspired by this man. Anyone or anything that can spark any sort of emotion instantly is noteworthy. That person or that thing should be praised.

So, Chris Guillebeau, here’s your praise. Way to be, man.
