Creative lessons from Rene Magritte « Scott Berkun.
Alight so I could probably read about creative thinking ALL day. But this one was especially good. When I clicked this link, the first thing I saw was a great painting by Rene Magritte. I really like his work. He seems like sort of a prick, and I mean that in the best way possible. As Scott Berkun puts it,
It’s deep, funny, interesting, philosophical and simple all at the same time, which is what I hope my work to be like.
Sorry to take another one of your thoughts, Scott Berkun, but I hope my work will be like that too. I’d like people to look at whatever I create and say “this girl is funny and interesting and worthy of my time. She’s probably sort of an asshole, but I mean that in the best way possible.” That would probably be the greatest thing someone could tell me.
So here’s what Scott Berkun learned about creativity from Rene Magritte:
- You can be creative with anything
- You can be serious and funny at the same time
- No one gets a free ride
- You can work anywhere.
Good show, Rene and Scott. Good show.
(By the way, I feel like the way I get stuck on one person’s blog for like a week and keep posting links to their blog is sort of lame, but I refuse to diversify my sources just for the sake of the reader. So, sorry if you think I’m lame. You may be correct. I still think I’m awesome.)
